Before you start

  • You need access to add a script to your website's <head> (or ask us to add it).

Step by step

  1. Click "Add site", enter the domain (e.g. example.com) and optionally a name.
  2. Copy the tracking script with "Copy" and place it in the <head> of every page. On WordPress it goes in the theme header or through a header-scripts plugin.
  3. Open your website. Under "Active now (5 minutes)" you should see yourself.
  4. Choose a period (24 hours, 7 or 30 days) and see visitors, sessions, page views, bounce rate and average duration.
  5. See where visitors come from (Traffic channels, Top referrers, UTM campaigns) and what they view (Popular pages, Landing and Exit pages).
  6. See countries, new versus returning visitors, devices, operating systems and browsers.
  7. To track actions (e.g. purchase, form) add window.ncpa('event_name', {key:'value'}) to your site. They appear under "Custom events".
