Follow the steps in your account
Open in platform Sign-in and access to this tool are required.
Before you start
- You need a server with WordPress in /var/www/html.
- The staging subdomain (e.g. staging.mysite.com) must have a DNS A record pointing to your server.
Step by step
- Under "New staging" choose the WordPress server and enter the staging subdomain.
- Click "Create staging". Files and database are copied in 30–90 seconds and links are rewritten to the new URL automatically.
- Click "Open staging" and make your changes there. Search engines do not see it.
- When everything is right, click "Push to production". A snapshot of the live site is taken first, then it is replaced.
- Check the live site. If something went wrong, roll back from the snapshots on the "Site deploy" page.
- Delete the staging when you no longer need it. The live site is not affected.
Common questions
- "Push failed".
- The live site is protected by the snapshot taken beforehand. Roll back from the Deploy page and open a support request.
