Before you start

  • You must have created the new mailbox already.
  • For Gmail, use a Google App Password if your account allows one. Direct migration from Outlook.com and Microsoft 365 is not supported by this flow. Contact support for an alternative migration method.

Step by step

  1. Choose your current provider. For another provider open "Advanced settings" and enter the IMAP host and port (usually 993).
  2. Under "Source" enter the old email and its password or app password.
  3. Under "Destination" enter the new mailbox and its password.
  4. Click "Test both connections". Once both are verified, you see a summary with folders and message count.
  5. Click Start migration. The job is queued and runs in the background when its turn comes. Follow its status in Migration history.
  6. Under "Migration history" follow progress or cancel a migration.

The connection check fails.
Check that the old provider allows IMAP sign-in with a password or app password. Gmail requires an app password where the account permits one. Outlook.com and Microsoft 365 require a different sign-in method that this flow does not support; contact support.
